Water is pressurised to 55000psi and piped to a cutting head. The cutting head has an orifice of only 1mm. The resulting water stream can be used to cut soft materials such as: Foam, Rubber, Plastics, Fibreglass, Laminates.
The Waterjet Cutting process is further developed by introducing a hard and sharp mineral (80's Grit Garnet) into a chamber close to the point of delivery.
Following this the Waterjet is able to cut any material - examples include: Glass, Ceramics, Stone, Marble, Porcelain, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Platinum, Gold Silver, Bronze, Brass. |
